Go castle crazy

Whichever corner of Wales you choose, you won’t have to go far to hunt a castle down. Clamber over ruined remains. Circle the walls of those that dominate cities. Wait a while on top of fortifications high in the hills. Or build your own castle out of sand – there are plenty of accommodating beaches.

Walk it out

Meander, ramble, hike, scramble – whatever your walking style, Wales has a plentiful supply of places that’ll make you want to pull on your boots. Hit the beach for a wander. Head to the valleys. Strike out for Snowdon’s summit. Or for the really daring, stride the edge of Crib Goch.
